The present invention provides thiazolylicinnamic acid nitriles of the general formula I (I), in which X represents an unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group substituted by one or more substituents selected from halogen atoms alkyl groups, alkoxy groups, trifluoromethyl groups and a nitro group. Such compounds exhibit a superior and longer-lasting insecticidal action and, in addition, have the great advantage of a very low toxicity towards warm-blooded animals.
