A method of providing a sheet of glass with a splinterresistant coating which comprises forming a coating on the surface by polymerising a monomer composition at a temperature of 0°C to 40°C. The monomer composition is selected to provide a polymer having a dynamic second order transition temperature of from -40°C to 40°C.
