Abstract From the Canadian patent

PROCESS FOR THE MONOACYLATION OF AMINOHYDROXYNAPHTHALENE- SULPHONIC ACIDS WITH 2,4,6-TRIFLUORO-S-TRIAZINE Abstract of the Disclosure, Process for producing compounds of the formula (1), wherein R is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl and n is 1 or 2, which process comprises condensing aminohydroxynaphthalenesulphonic acids of the formula, (2), with 2,4,6-trifluoro-s-triazine in an aqueous solution or, suspension, within a pH range which is defined by PKN(R)H ? pH ? (pKOH - 2), wherein PKN(R)H and pKOH are the pK values respectively of the amino group and hydroxyl group of the aminohydroxynaphthalenesulphonic acid and pH is the hydrogen exponent to give compounds, of the formula (1).
