Abstract From the Canadian patent

Separation or enrichment of isotopes from a mixture of compounds containing the isotopes, by subjecting a vaporous mixture of the compounds containing the isotopes to electromagnetic radiation e.g. laser radiation, to non-selectively excite the molecules with only one compound exceeding the energy threshold required for separation of the compounds. To effect this, the frequency of the radiation must be chosen so that in the spectrum of the mixture of isotope compounds to which the radiation is applied the, compounds are at different energy levels and upon application of the radiation only one compound exceeds the energy threshold level required for separation of the isotope compounds.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted August 19, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended August 19, 1997.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
