Tertiary amino acid tertiary amino acid-nitrile and, amine salts of tertiary amino acid compositions have been found to be effective as delayed action catalysts for polyurethane synthesis. They are particularly effective when used in combination with an organometallic such as organo tin composition. Typically the tertiary amino acids are formed by reacting a primary or secondary amine with an aldehyde and disubstituted acid to form a Mannich adduct. The amine salts are formed by reacting the resulting Mannich acid adduct with an amine. A process for the polymerization of a urethane forming composition is disclosed along with a delayed action catalyst used in the process.

Why it's free to use
- Granted August 12, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended August 12, 1997.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
