Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention consists of an addition to a tractor drawn vegetable plug planter for the purpose of discharging into the ground a measured quantity of a seed and moisture containing gel simultaneously with the plug discharge of the planter. It consists primarily of a storage tank for the gel, which supplies the gel to a solenoid operated cylinder which discharges the gel in equal quantities and at equal intervals which are synchronized with the discharge of the plugs by the planter. The said cylinder is powered by the battery of the trailer, and its intermittent action is controlled by the same device in the planter which controls the discharge of the plugs.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted July 29, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 29, 1997.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
