Process for the preparation of alkylbenzenes by partial chlorination of linear C9 - C15 paraffins catalytic alkylation of benzene with the resulting mixture and fractionation by distillation of the alkylation products. At least a part of the unreacted paraffins recovered by fractionation and to be recycled to the chlorination stage is submitted, continuously or intermittently to a purification treatment with molecular sieves. The content in undesired by-products of the alkylbenzenes can thus be maintained at negligibly low values.

Why it's free to use
- Granted July 15, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 15, 1997.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
