Ethylene copolymers derived from about 2 to 98 wt. % ethylene and one or, more C3 to C28 alpha olefins e.g. conylene-propylene, are solution grafted under an inert atmosphere and at elevated temperatures with an ethylenicallyunsaturated carboxylic acid material in the presence of a high-temperature decomposable free-radical initiator and thereafter reacted with a polyfunctional material reactive with carboxyl groups; such as (a) a polyamine or (b) a polyol, or (c) a hydroxy-amine, or mixtures thereof to form carboxyl-grafted polymeric derivatives, which have good engine sludge and varnish control behavior in fuels and lubricating oils. Why it's free to use
- Granted July 15, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 15, 1997.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
