Abstract From the Canadian patent

Poly(alkylene terephthalates) are prepared by an improved process which provides high molecular weight in a, shortened reaction time, without excessive loss of the diol reactant to side reactions. In the process an excess of the diol reactant is heated with a mixture of the corresponding dialkyl terephthalates and from 5 to 95 mole % of terephthalic acid, based on the mixture.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted June 17, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended June 17, 1997.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
