Cyclic ketones of the formula: (I), wherein R1 is optionally substituted by lower alkyl lower alkoxy or halogen, phenyl and n is 1 or 2 are disclosed as well as methods for their production. The compounds are useful as intermediates in the production of the corresponding acids which possess pharmaceutical activity.
