Abstract From the Canadian patent

A rolling mill is disclosed wherein at least two drive rolls are mounted for rotation within a frame with each drive roll, being rotatably supported by at least one backing roll and at least one working roll is mounted for rotation between the drive rolls to define at least one path for passage of material to be rolled. While each working roll is freely rotating it is, rotatably driven by surface friction produced by engagement with at least one of the drive rolls.
