An improved live-tank modular-construction circuitbreaker arrangement of the rotating-contact-arm type is provided, in which only three breaks are adequate and suffice for interrupting very high voltages, say of the order of 550 kV, or 362 kV, for example. The metallic interrupting "live" heads are of modular standard construction and, utilize the rotating-contact-arm type of circuit-breaker assemblage. The proposed breaker design of the present invention allows interruption to take place with an odd number of breaks in series for "live-tank" breakers. This results in eliminating three extra-high-voltage terminal-bushings three capacitor dividers, three interrupting breaks and, three …

Why it's free to use
- Granted May 13, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended May 13, 1997.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
