Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention relates to methods or circuit arrangements for compensating time base error in recording systems, particularly video recording systems by electro-mechanical, and electronic means. The circuit arrangements provide for separation of the horizontal synchronizing pulses from the video information contained in a signal coming from a recorded video tape com-, parison of the phase of these horizontal synchronizing pulses to the phase of a reference pulse, and adjustment of the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing pulses which go to the video receiver to eliminate time base error.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted April 29, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended April 29, 1997.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
