New 1,1,2-tris-(o/p-hydroxyphenyl)-1-phenyl-ethanes and their preparation by reacting acetophenone derivatives with phenol at temperatures between -20 and 200°C. These compounds are useful for the preparation ofbranched polycarbonates epoxide and phenol for maldehyde resins.
