A capacitive fluid pressure transducer is described herein comprising a quartz body having a body electrode and deflectable quartz diaphragm having an annular sensing electrode disposed on the inflection circle of the diaphragm to form a sensing capacitor wherein the capacitance changes in substantially linear proportion to fluid pressure fluctuations.
