A pressure sensor for use in measuring pressures in liquid at high temperatures, especially such as liquid sodium or liquid potassium, comprises a soft diaphragm in contact with the liquid. The soft diaphragm is coupled mechanically to a stiff diaphragm. Pressure is measured by measuring the displacement of both diaphragms typically, by measuring the capacitance between the stiff diaphragm and a fixed plate when the stiff diaphragm is deflected in response to the measured pressure through mecnanical coupling from the soft diaphragm. Absolute calibration is achieved by admitting gas under pressure to the region between diaphragms and to the region between the stiff diaphragm and the fixed …

Why it's free to use
- Granted February 12, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended February 12, 1997.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
