Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention provides .DELTA.15-steroids of the general formula I, (I), in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a trialkylsilyl or acyl group, R2 represents an ethynyl, chlorethynyl or propynyl group and X represents an oxygen atom or a grouping of the formula or NOR4, in which R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group and R4 represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl alkyl, cycloalkyl or tetrahydropyranyl group. The compounds of the present invention possess valuable steroid hormone properties and can be used as pharmaceutics.
