A suction pump is provided which is useful to remove mucus blood, vomit etc. from the mouth, throat or air ducts of an unconcious person. The invention is particularly useful as a tracheal suction pump to be used at the scene of an accident and during transport of a person to a hospital. The pump comprises a pump assembly having a suction chamber with an outlet leading to the ambient atmosphere and an inlet communicating with a secretion-receiving reservoir with attached tubing permitting suction of secretion primarily from, the air ducts of an unconcious patient.
