Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process which comprises the oxidation of sulphur-containing compounds by treating said sulphur-containing compounds with an oxygen-containing gas in a medium possessing a pH of from about 8 to 14 in the presence of a catalyst system comprising a Group VIIB metal phthalocyanine and a Group VIII metal phthalocyanine.
