A process for the production of a polymer with a wide molecular weight distribution by continuous adiabatic polymerisation of butadiene-1.3 in the presence of an organolithium catalyst in a flow tube wherein the feed, of catalyst is periodically varied over a fixed cycle time between a lower and a higher value and a back mixing of the individually formed zones of different molecular weight takes place in the flow tube. These polymers are useful particularly in tread rubber formulations for passenger vehicles.

Why it's free to use
- Granted January 8, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 8, 1997.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
