This invention relates to novel derivatives of 1,2,3,4tetrahydro-5(H)-pyrido-4,3-b- indole having interesting pharmacological properties, In particular the novel compounds exhibit a neuroleptic activity and may be useful as central nervous system depressants, sedatives or tranquillizers A process for the preparation of the novel compounds is described and exemplied, and examples of pharmaceutical compositions containing the novel compounds are given.
