Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention relates to apparatus for terminating a plurality of insulated conductors in respective insulationpiercing contact portions of electrical connectors. Prior art termination apparatus are not completely satisfactory for terminating electrical connectors having different transverse widths. Further, such apparatus do not equalize the forces applied across a connector by the members used to insert the conductors. The present invention provides a field termination tool for electrical connectors and includes laterally floating combs having edges which engage respective longitudinal slots on each side of the electrical connector to define a reference plane.
