Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention relates to a method on tensioning a flexible floating cover for a liquid storage reservoir wherein the surface level of the stored liquid varies. A peripheral envelope formed at least adjacent a portion of the peripheral edges of the floatable cover is adapted to be inflated with a compressible fluid, such as air, for proper tensioning of the cover as the level of the stored liquid varies in the reservoir and for preventing wrinkling of the cover.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted January 8, 1980. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 8, 1997.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
