An animal trap is described having a stationary jaw member and a movable jaw member which is spring biassed towards the stationary jaw member. When the trap is set the movable jaw member is held by a tripping device at a spacing from the stationary jaw member. The springs which bias the movable jaw member also support the trap in its position of use and are adjustable to vary the inclination of the trap.
