Glass jar for food or the like of the type having threaded top portion for securing to the top a cap. The threaded portion is prevented from hitting the threaded portion of another jar, e.g. during the conveying of the jars through a filling station, due to the provision of peripheral protrusions on the outside of the jar whereby damage to the thread by splintering off a portion of the jar thread by the impact is prevented, as the glasses impact each other by a section different from that of the thread.

Why it's free to use
- Granted November 20, 1979. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended November 20, 1996.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
