In a reactive metal-water electrechemical cell an alkaline, electrolyte, containing soluble peroxide ions which improve the raiformity of reaction at the amode, reduces the amode's sensitivity to changes in the hydroxyl ion concentration of the electrolyte reduces the amode's sensitivity, to electrolyte flow rate and reduces the amode's sensitivity to temperature. The improved characteristics of the cell result from the ability of the peroxide ions to stabilize the amode and also to be reduced at a more electronegative potential than is required for the reduction of water. The soluble peroxide ion, HO2, is formed when hydrogen peroxide sodium peroxide, and other soluble inorganic peroxide …

Why it's free to use
- Granted September 4, 1979. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended September 4, 1996.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
