The preparation of compounds of the formula (VI), wherein R represents, an ethyl group or an isopropyl group or a pharmaceutically accep-, table salt thereof which comprises reacting a compound having the formula, (I), wherein R represents an ethyl group or an isopropyl group with a reducing agent capable of reducing the carbonyl group to a methyle? group without reducing the carboxyl group and when required salify? the reaction product to obtain a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
