Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a method for retarding the oxidative degradation of hydrocarbon fuels and other liquid hydrocarbon mixtures. The method provides a metal deactivating composition which will suppress not only the ability of solubilized copper to catalyze oxidative degradation in the fuels, but that of other trace metals such as manganese iron, cobalt, nickel and chromium. The reaction product is obtained by condensing one mole of an aliphatic polyamine containing at least two primary amino groups with approximately one mole of an ortho-hydroxy substituted aromatic aldehyde and approximately one mole of an aliphatic betadiketone.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted August 14, 1979. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended August 14, 1996.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
