Novel thiophanes of the formula wherein X and % individually are nitro fluoro, chloro or, bromo, Y is hydrogen nitro, fluoro, chloro or bromo, R1 is, alkyl or aryl and R2 is hydrogen or haloalkylthio are useful, for the prevention or sure of fungal infections.
