This invention relates to a method and a device for separating meat from bones in meat processing. The method separates the meat from the one under pressure. The pastelike meat obtained from the process is substantially free of any bone fragments. The device is in the form of a press comprising a cylinder and a sliding press. Narrow perforations are provided in the cylinder wall to allow the paste-like meat to discharge from the cylinder. A large discharge opening is provided in the end of the cylinder opposite to the press. A closing member is provided at the discharge opening for selectively opening the discharge opening for removal of the remaining bones.
