A heat-generating pipe comprises a ferromagnetic pipe having an insulated wire which extends longitudinally through it and is in series with a plurality of power sources. Each power source is separated by a predetermined length of the insulated wire to form a complete electrical circuit. This circuit may also have connected in it a magnetic controller that is actuated by a temperature-responsive control in order to regulate the flow of alternating current in the insulated wire according to the temperature of a fluid.
