Abstract From the Canadian patent

Compositions exhibiting high catalytic activity in the polymerization of .alpha.-olefins are provided by reacting an ester of titanium, a so-called titanate such as tetra(isopropxy)titanium, a hydrocarbon soluble organomagnesium compound or complex such as a complex of dialkyl magnesium and an alkyl aluminum, e.g. di-n-butylmagnesium?- 1/6 triethylaminum and an alkyl aluminum halide. Polymerization processes employing this catalyst composition do not require conventional catalyst removal steps in order to provide polymers having suitable color and other physical characteristics.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted January 23, 1979. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 23, 1996.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
